Story of the Day
I haven't been in Chicago since 1992 and then all I did was drive through. Here is this city I was born in. I spent the first 13 years of my life there. I have been to visit several times since I have left but never have I spent more than a week-end there since I left. There was and still is a lot to see there. The city has changed so much in my years of absence.
Architecture was my study of choice in college. But I have not been back to the home of the skyscraper to examine and study the towers that have risen. I did see the new Comisky Park from the Dan Ryan as I drove by but have yet to see a baseball game there. I call myself a White Sox fan but I have only seen one game played by them in their home park and that was in the old park.
I guess I need to go back there. To go without an agenda other than to see what I can in the time I will have. I would be tempted to not even tell my relatives that I would be there so they wouldn't monopolize my time. I probably wouldn't do that though. I will just have to partition my time to allow me to rove about the city and see and feel what ever strikes me. I should plan on seeing the Sox play though. I guess that means I won't be going in the winter?
